How to pay off the Federal debt

If the federal government sold all federal lands back to the States, we could pay off the federal debt. 

Overnight. 

Our founding fathers never envisioned, nor did they allow in the Constitution, the federal government to own land, except for the Capitol. And a good case could be made today for our military bases. 

Our state conservation leaders could steward our precious National Parks, BLM land, etc. just as well as the federal conservationists. In fact, they likely can do it better. The closer the overseers are to the overseen, the better. 

It's not rocket science. It's common sense.
